The Day, Unfolding
This day didn’t rush. It didn’t panic. It didn’t spiral. It unfolded: slowly, intentionally, like it knew exactly what it was doing. From the start, the energy was set. Music playing. Laughter bouncing off the walls. That quiet-but-not-so-quiet buzz of “oh this is going to be GOOD.”
This day was about connection. The real kind. Not just the teary ceremony moments (although yes, we had those), but the full spectrum.
The loud laughs.
The inside jokes.
The “I cannot believe we’re actually doing this” smiles.
The kind of emotion that lives in hugs that last a little too long and glances across the room that say everything without a single word. Nothing felt forced. Nothing felt overly posed. It just flowed.
Jaco, Riandri and their people?
They understood the assignment. Fully.
There was calm before the ceremony. Excitement without chaos. Joy without pressure.
You could feel it, this wasn’t just going to be a beautiful wedding.
It was going to be a core memory.
And honestly?
It delivered.

Soft Beginnings

When I walked in, the vibe was already vibing.
Music playing. Dresses steaming. Someone mid-lipstick. And in the middle of it all, Riandri and her makeup artist (who just happens to be one of her high school friends) absolutely belting Celine Dion.
Not softly. Not shyly.
Full commitment.
Full power ballad energy.
Hand gestures. Dramatic high notes. Zero hesitation.
It looked calm in the photos, soft light, gentle smiles, but behind that? Pure pre-wedding joy.
And Riandri looked unreal.
Elegant in that effortless way. Soft but striking. The kind of presence that doesn’t need to demand attention, it just has it.
Her bridesmaids adored her. You could see it in the way they fixed her dress without being asked, the way they looked at her when she wasn’t watching. These weren’t just bridesmaids. These were real friendships. Long history. Deep love.
There were bed jumps. There was dancing. There were quiet “oh my gosh” moments when it all sank in.
It wasn’t just getting ready.
It was a room full of women who genuinely love each other, showing up fully.
And somewhere between Celine Dion and final lipstick touch-ups, it all started to feel real.
emotion and connection
A wedding day is filled with joy. Laughter moves through the room, glasses clink, friends embrace, and for a few hours everything feels bright and alive. It’s celebration at its fullest, people dressing up, showing up, leaning in.
But woven into all of that happiness are quieter emotions that rise gently throughout the day. Not because something is wrong, but because something is meaningful.
There are moments when you suddenly become fully aware of what you have. Of the people standing beside you. Of the history that brought you here. Of the love that has carried you to this point. Sometimes that awareness shows up as gratitude. Sometimes it shows up as reflection. And sometimes, it shows up as tears.
Not all of those tears are the same. Some come from overwhelming joy. Some come from missing someone who couldn’t be there. Some come from remembering chapters that weren’t always easy. A wedding day has a way of holding all of it.The celebration, the memory, the longing, the relief, the love.
That’s what makes it so human.
The laughter and the emotion don’t cancel each other out. They exist together. And in that contrast. Happiness layered with small, honest flashes of feeling, the day becomes something deeper than just beautiful.
It becomes real. Something I find so beautiful.

Lovers & Friends
At the centre of it all were Jaco and Riandri: the reason the guest list existed, the reason the room felt electric, the reason everyone showed up dressed and ready. This day wasn’t just about a wedding. It was about them.
What makes them stand out isn’t just how good they look together (and yes, they do), but how they move together. There’s an ease. A natural rhythm. The kind of playful energy that only comes from being best friends first. Inside jokes mid-ceremony. Soft teasing between portraits. That “we’ve got this” glance without needing to say it out loud.
But here’s the part that really hits, beneath all that fun is something steady. There’s deep respect. A quiet admiration. The way they listen to each other. The way they give each other space and then meet right back in the middle. It’s playful, yes, but it’s grounded. Solid. Real.
When they stepped away for a moment against the open landscape of Kaleo Guest Farm, it didn’t feel staged or overly romantic. It felt like two people completely comfortable in their own story. The mountains, the water, the wind- all of it just amplified what was already there.
They’re not just in love.
They genuinely love each other.

The plot twist

For months, Riandri had been quietly planning something no one saw coming: cutting her hair on her wedding day. It wasn’t impulsive. It wasn’t last-minute nerves. It was intentional. The only person who knew was Annika, her hair and makeup artist and high school friend. Not Jaco. Not the guests. Not even me.
During our couple session, she casually pulled me aside and told me Annika was waiting in the manor house and that it was time. We made our way back under the simple excuse of quickly grabbing something we had “forgotten,” while Jaco stayed outside, completely unaware that a transformation was about to happen.
It felt bold but calm. Edgy but elegant. Completely her.
When she stepped out, shorter hair framing her face, that quiet confidence somehow even stronger - the moment landed instantly. Jaco’s expression said everything: surprise, admiration, and that unmistakable “okay wow” energy all at once.
And when they entered the reception, the room collectively recalibrated. Gasps. Laughter. A ripple of shock that quickly turned into full appreciation. Even her mom, half amused and half stunned, couldn’t quite believe it.
It was about stepping into the night exactly as herself.
Unique. Fearless. And so unmistakably Riandri.

When It Let Go

And then… it was time.
The speeches wrapped, the plates cleared, and whatever composure everyone had been holding onto quietly disappeared. The dance floor was outside, fairy lights strung overhead, a disco ball catching every flicker of movement and throwing it back in silver flashes.
It was already a vibe before the first song even dropped.
The kind of dancing that starts slightly controlled and ends in full send. Arms in the air. Heads thrown back. People spinning each other until balance became optional.
The disco ball turned the whole space into something cinematic. Every spin caught in the light. Every jump glittering. Fairy lights above, mountains somewhere in the dark distance, and a dance floor that refused to calm down.
Jaco and Riandri were right in the middle of it, not hosting, not observing, but fully in it. Laughing. Singing. Pulling their people closer.
And somewhere between trying to capture it all and not missing a single moment, I found myself dancing too. Camera in hand. Fully present. Because when the energy is that good, you don’t just document it, you feel it.
The disco ball kept spinning. The music kept building. And the night ended exactly the way it should have:
Bright. Wild. Completely alive.

Your Turn

If this feels like your kind of energy — connection first, a little unexpected, fully present — then I want to hear about it.
Tell me your date. Your venue. The vision. The chaos. The soft moments you’re already imagining. I’m here for all of it.
Whether you're planning something elegant and intentional or slightly unhinged in the best way, let’s make it unforgettable.
